Questions people actually ask
Is there a compulsory monthly subscription?
No. You can use the Ajax app and receive system notifications without a compulsory monthly Ajax fee. Monitoring, armed response and SIM data are optional extras you choose separately.
Will it work with my current armed response company?
In most cases, yes. Ajax reports to control rooms through its own monitoring software, popular platforms like MAS and Patriot, or standard alarm formats such as SIA DC-09 and Contact ID. Ask your company whether they receive Ajax signals, tell us who you are with, and we plan the system around them. Your response contract stays as it is.
Do I need armed response as well?
Not necessarily. The system can notify you directly, and you can connect it to armed response or professional monitoring where that makes sense for the property.
What happens during a power failure?
The hub and devices run on backup power, and the system can communicate over a mobile connection when the internet is down. We size backup to the property during the assessment.
Can I start small and add to it later?
Yes. Start with intrusion protection, then add outdoor detection, visual verification, fire safety, leak protection or automation as your needs grow.
Do you cover holiday homes and unoccupied properties?
Yes — that is a large part of what we do on the West Coast. Automation can simulate occupancy, and you keep full visibility of the property from the app while away.
What warranty do I get?
24-month product warranty on qualifying equipment, with the claim handled locally by us rather than sending you to a distributor.
